Iran Joins Zinc Exporting Countries

Iran has achieved self-sufficiency of its zinc productions and will export part of the output, according to Iran official news agency (IRNA). 

The agency quoted Iranian director of industrial affairs department at the mines and metals ministry, Abolqasem Ataei, as saying "for the first time in the country the amount of domestically-produced zinc ingots have fully satisfied domestic market needs", adding that a part of the output will be exported.  

Speaking at a gathering of zinc and lead miners, he estimated that zinc exports would top 10,000 tons with a value of $11 million by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20), said the agency - Albawaba.com
