Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, on Thursday said that heart-rending tragedy of Kadhimiya district of Baghdad brought sorrow for the humanity. According to IRNA, Khamenei said that his heart was filled with grief and shock at the extent of the human disaster in the holy city of Kadhimiya.

The Supreme Leader called on the Iraqi nation to exercise solidarity to disappoint the enemy, holding the occupation forces in Iraq responsible for the bloodshed in the country. "Occupiers of Iraq have imposed their ominous presence on the Iraqi nation under pretext of providing them with security. They are responsible for such tragedies," Khamenei said.

"I appeal to God to help rid the Iraqi nation and all the Islamic Ummah (nation) of the evil of arrogant powers and aliens," he added.
