Iran Parliament Speaker to Visit Saudi

A parliamentary source in Tehran said that the speaker of Iran's parliament, Mehdi Karubi will visit Riyadh on December 24 for talks on the Middle East and Afghanistan.  

The unnamed s told AFP that Karubi will discuss during his visit with the Saudi top officials the improvement of bilateral ties between the two Muslim nations. 

They will also review the two sides’ forms of "support for the Palestinians” in the shed light of the Israeli escalation against the Palestinians. 

Meanwhile, Iran's ambassador to Saudi Ali Asghar Khaji met on Wednesday with the Saudi Minister of Industry and Electricity Hashim Abdullah Hashim Yamani and exchanged with him views on latest bilateral cooperation in the technical and industrial fields. 

According to Iran’s official news agency (IRNA), the Saudi minister expressed his country's full readiness for bolstering bilateral cooperation, calling for greater efforts of the two sides for continuation of mutual ties. Hashim Yamani, who is also the chairman of board of directors of Saudi Arabia Petrochemical Co., called the auto and petrochemical industries as two main areas for cooperation of the two countries. 

He expressed hope that the 4th Iran-Saudi Arabia Joint Economic Commission in Tehran would lead to more bilateral cooperation in these two fields in the future, IRNA said – Albawaba.com
