Forty Pakistanis fleeing their country were rejected Saturday by Iran's border police as they were trying to infiltrate, Iranian state radio reported.
The radio was quoting the police of the Sistan-Baluchistan province, which borders both Pakistan and Afghanistan and was where the group of 40 was driven back.
The radio added the information was confirmed by the Pakistani authorities, but did not provide further details on the identities of the Pakistanis nor their reasons for trying to flee Pakistan.
Iran recently heightened security along this area of its borders to prevent Afghan refugees from pouring into the country and stop any suspected Al-Qaeda fighters from infiltrating. (Albawaba.com)
