Iran to resume nuclear activities

Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said in Kuwait Monday night that Iran will definitely resume its peaceful nuclear activities.

 

Asefi, who is in Kuwait for an official visit told reporters that Iran is a member of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. "The convention has a series of provisions which Iran will abide by," he reiterated.

 

"The peaceful use of nuclear technology is the right of all nations. We are not pursuing acquisitions of nuclear weapons and believe that will not bring security," Asefi said, cited by <i>IRNA</i>.

 

"Iranian experts have achieved accomplishments that we should make use of. We have told the Europeans that we are ready to give them assurances that we will not deviate from our peaceful nuclear activities."
