Iran and South Africa signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the field of tourism in Pretoria Tuesday night. The memorandum was signed by the visiting Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Kamal Kharrazi and South African Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism Valli Moosa, reported Iranian News Agency (IRNA) Thursday.
Pointing to the recent visit to Pretoria of the Head of Iran's Department of the Environment, Ms. Ma'soumeh Ebtekar, Moosa was quoted as saying he had discussed with the Iranian official bilateral cooperation in efforts to protect the environment. He expressed his hope he could visit Iran and become further acquainted with its tourism and environment activities, adding that his country welcomes joint ventures for developing the tourism industry of both countries.
For his part, Kharrazi hoped “Iran could avail of South Africa's valuable information and expertise in the field of tourism,” said IRNA – Albawaba.com
