Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Hojatoleslam Ahmad Khatami said Friday that Arab nations should negotiate with the Palestinians instead of the Israeli regime. "Instead of negotiating with the Israeli regime, the Arab states should talk to the Palestinian nation so as to garner divine consent and national popularity," said Hojatoleslam Khatami in his second Friday prayers sermon.

According to IRNA, Hojatoleslam Khatami criticized Arab states for negotiation with and official recognition of the Israeli regime. "Don't forget that your predecessors had had many such talks but none of them were fruitful and failed to subside the Israeli regime's mischiefs even on an small scale," declared the cleric.

Elsewhere in his sermon, Hojatoleslam Khatami reiterated Iran's resolve for nuclear talks with the European parties. "We have raised our words times and again, showing that we favor talks while not willing to backdown our rights," he noted.
