Three Iranian convicts on Thursday won a last-minute reprieve after they asked for pardon, reported the Iranian News Agency (IRNA).
The agency said that the move angered hundreds of people who gathered to watch the execution.
Mohammad-Javad Rezaei, Asghar Ramezani and Ahmad Baqerian were handed down death punishments after a court of common pleas in the central city of Shahin-Shahr arraigned them on charges of “kidnapping, rape and aiding and abetting murder.”
The convicts won the reprieve since they had not asked for pardon during their trial, said the agency – Albawaba.com
