MP from the province of Isfahan Hassan Kamran Dastjerdi urged the foreign ministry on Tuesday to file a legal case in an international court against the US raid on the Iranian consulate in Iraq.
Addressing a Majlis open session Tuesday, the MP stressed that "no one has the right to arrest and detain members of the diplomatic corps who enjoy diplomatic immunity in accordance with international law."
Dastjerdi, who is also a member of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, added, according to IRNA, that the foreign ministry was expected to file a lawsuit against Washington at an international court even though it may be widely held that "such courts are under US influence and will not act independently."
