Visiting Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini met with Iran's President Mohammad Khatami on Tuesday. The presidential press office reported that Khatami referred to his Euroepan first trip after taking office to Italy as indicative of the historical and deep-rooted cultural ties between Tehran and Rome, IRNA reported.
