Four people were killed on Saturday morning in Iraq in bombings and a driveby shooting, AP reported.
Two off-duty policemen were killed and another wounded when gunmen shot at them near the northern city of Mosul.
In the city of Kirkuk, a man was killed while driving his truck when a roadside bomb exploded. Another roadside bomb went off south of Baghdad, which killed a policeman and wounded three others.
Despite violence apparently lessening in recent months, attacks by insurgent groups are still frequent and sectarian tensions are still simmering.
Mass protests by Sunnis in Anbar province in recent weeks calling for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki to step down and a tense standoff between Kurdish fighters and the Iraqi army in the north have led some analysts to suggest Iraq may be on the brink of a new civil war. Shiites have also held counter-demonstrations.
