A roadside bomb in a town in disputed Iraqi Kurdistan has killed two local politicians and a bodyguard, Al Jazeera reported on Tuesday.
The attack, which took place just south of the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk wounded one other politician and one other bodyguard, according to police and hospital sources speaking to the news agency.
Candidates, Naimi and Khorshid, who were standing for the local elections set for April 20 were both killed in the blast.
Northern Iraq has been hit by a wave a bombings in recent months as the semi-autonomous regional government continues to debate with Baghdad over who owns oil contracts in the region.
