Iraqi security forces on Wednesday arrested 10 ISIS terrorists in the northern city of Mosul, according to a local police chief.
The 10 were rounded up during a security operation in Al-Islah Al-Zeraei district in western Mosul, Nineveh police chief Hamad al-Jabouri told Anadolu Agency.
Meanwhile, a Defense Ministry officer who preferred anonymity said security forces have a database of all fugitive ISIS terrorists and other militants convicted of terrorism crimes.
Late last year, officials in Baghdad declared that ISIS 's military presence in Iraq had been all but eliminated. However, it appears the notorious terrorist group still maintains “sleeper cells” in several parts of the country, including oil-rich Kirkuk province.
