In a related incident, Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid criticized Prime Minister Netanyahu's refusal to form an independent investigation committee regarding the events of October 7.

Lapid stated, "Our military and political strength has cracked, and even our internal strength has been shattered. Prime Minister Netanyahu knows the truth and fears it, so he prevents the formation of an official investigation committee."

He further accused Netanyahu of being "a coward and a failure who only cares about himself and his own affairs."

Channel 13 also reported that senior security officials are warning about the repercussions of the crisis between Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant, which could impact the management of the war and the achievement of its goals.
