ALBAWABA- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has declared the government's intent to construct a border wall along the Jordanian frontier. This move highlights the Jordanian borders' historical significance as Palestine's longest border, stretching over 335 kilometers.

Netanyahu drew parallels with the wall built on the southern border with Egypt, which successfully prevented infiltration. He contended that this action prevented over a million potential infiltrations, safeguarding Israel from potential destabilization.

Netanyahu emphasized the necessity of building a wall along the eastern border with Jordan to ensure no unauthorized entry.

While the official rationale centers on preventing migrant infiltration, it is widely speculated that a key motivation is to stem the flow of weapons and combat equipment smuggling. Israeli authorities have reported thwarting various attempts to cross the Jordanian border for employment purposes.

Furthermore, the Israeli channel "Kan" reported that arms smuggling across the Jordanian border had contributed to an environment fostering increased resistance activities in the West Bank.
