ALBAWABA - Following the Israeli Occupation Forces' announcement of launching an official military operation in Al-Shifa Hosptial in Gaza, some 300 Gazans have been reportedly detained by Israeli soldiers from the enclave's largest medical complex.
A report by the IOF said that dozens were detained of what they called "prominent Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists", claiming that they were involved in "directing terrorist activity in the West Bank, active in propaganda efforts and part of Islamic Jihad's rocket unit".
"The suspects are being interrogated on-site by field investigators from Unit 504 of the Intelligence Corps and are subsequently taken for further investigation by the unit and the (internal security agency) Shin Bet in Israel," the IOF statement added.
The Gaza Media Office reported on Tuesday that more than 250 Palestinians have been killed or injured in an ongoing Israeli operation on Al-Shifa Hospital.
Pictures encircled social media showing IOF soldiers blindfolding and tying up Palestinians and detaining them in trucks.
Witnesses in Gaza City reported seeing tanks encircle the hospital location. In November, the Israeli army conducted an operation in Al-Shifa, which sparked an international outrage.
According to the Health Ministry in Gaza, tens of thousands of Palestinians who have been displaced due to the brutal Israeli aggression have sought shelter at the medical complex.
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip and captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
The latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza revealed that the death toll from Israeli brutal pounding on the Gaza Strip since October 7 has soared to 31,819+ people, with more than 73,934+ injuries.
Since then, approximately 85% of Gazans have been displaced, all of whom are suffering from severe food insecurity, and the healthcare system has collapsed. Hundreds of thousands of people lack shelter, and aid trucks are entering the area at a lower rate than before the conflict began.
