Israel considers hiring 100,000 Indian workers to replace 90,000 Palestinians whose work permits were revoked due to the conflict.

Israel's construction sector has requested the government's permission to hire up to 100,000 workers from India, after revoking the work permits for over 90,000 Palestinian workers since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas war on October 7.

The Israeli Builders Association has made this request, but nothing has been formalized yet. It will need to go through the proper channels, including obtaining approval from the Indian government.

Additionally, in May of this year, an MoU was signed between India's External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar, and Israel's Foreign Minister, Eli Cohen, for the engagement of nearly 34,000 Indian workers in the construction sector and 8,000 for nursing needs.
