A Palestinian teenager has been killed by Israeli forces, it has been reported.

The Guardian reports that 17-year-old Laith Fadel al-Khaladi was killed amid violent clashes in Ramallah.

Palestinian medical officials report that the teenager was shot by Israeli sniper fire at a checkpoint. Israeli forces say he threw a fire bomb at a watch tower.

Violence has erupted in the region after a toddler was burnt alive in a horrific attack on Thursday night. 18-month-old Ali Saad Dawabsha was asleep in his family home in the West Bank when fire bombs were thrown inside. Four other family members were taken to hospital with severe burns.

The attackers also reportedly sprayed “revenge” and “long live the Messiah” on the walls in Hebrew, according to Haaretz.

The incident has provoked outrage locally and internationally. IDF spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner labelled the attack "nothing short of a barbaric act of terrorism."
