Israeli settlements in the West Bank are part of deliberate plan to drive Palestinians off their land, according to a new UN report, published on Thursday.
The report goes on to urge Israel to remove all settlers from the Occupied Territories and halt settlement expansion permanently.
The UN Human Rights Council, the body behind the latest report, has repeatedly called for a halt to the illegal outposts in the West Bank. Israel considers the organization to be "biased" and decided to boycott their most recent human rights review, annoucing their decision on Tuesday.
Palestinians have warned that Israel's latest round of settlements, planned for the E1 strip of land between East Jerusalem and the West Bank, threaten to destroy any attempts at a contiguous Palestinian state.
"The magnitude of violations relating to Israel's policies of dispossessions, evictions, demolitions and displacements from land shows the widespread nature of these breaches of human rights," Unity Dow, member of the UN human rights fact-finding mission, said in a statement.
