ALBAWABA- Al-Jazeera correspondent Ismail al-Ghoul and photographer Rami al-Rifi were killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting them in Gaza City.

This incident occurred just hours after the assassination of Hamas's top leader, Ismail Haniyeh, in Tehran and senior Hezbollah commander Fouad Shukr, known as the mastermind behind Hezbollah's military wing, in Beirut.

The Israeli government has taken responsibility for these assassinations, significantly escalating tensions in the region and raising concerns about a potential all-out war, with apparent disregard for international treaties and decisions.

Commenting on the situation, Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya stated, "If the hand that fired the missile at Haniyeh is not cut off, the enemy will continue in other places." He emphasized that the absence of a leader does not divert the movement's course.

In response to the assassination of Haniyeh, the Al-Qassam Brigades announced that they carried out two shooting operations in Hebron, near the Kiryat Arba settlement and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

So far, recent reports confirmed the deaths of 155 journalists and media workers, comprising 106 Palestinians, two Israelis, and three Lebanese. Additionally, 32 journalists were reported injured, and two were reported missing.

Furthermore, 52 journalists have been arrested. The situation has also seen multiple incidents of assaults, threats, cyberattacks, censorship, and even the killings of journalists' family members.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) is investigating numerous unconfirmed reports of other journalists being killed, missing, detained, injured, or threatened, as well as damage to media offices and journalists' homes.
