ALBAWABA- Loud explosions rocked Yemen’s capital Sana’a Wednesday afternoon as Israeli warplanes carried out fresh strikes on multiple sites, marking a dramatic escalation in the regional conflict.

According to Israel’s Channel 12, the airstrikes hit six locations, including the Presidential Palace, headquarters of Yemen’s Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, a government complex in Al-Jawf, a fuel storage facility, and the media department linked to the Houthis.

Ansar Allah’s (Houthi) military spokesman said Yemeni air defenses engaged Israeli aircraft during the raids.

The latest bombardment comes just one day after Israel’s controversial strike in Doha, Qatar, and two weeks after a deadly attack in Sana’a that killed Houthi Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahwai along with several cabinet ministers during a government meeting.

Since the assassination of their leadership, the Houthis have sharply escalated cross-border operations, launching waves of missiles and drones at Israel.

Their strikes have targeted sensitive sites including Ben Gurion and Ramon airports as well as the nuclear facility in Dimona, briefly breaching Israel’s layered defenses and heightening fears of a widening regional war.
