Several Israeli military vehicles on Thursday morning crossed the border fence into the Gaza Strip east of Beit Lahiya, witnesses said.
Witnesses told Ma’an they saw the vehicles -- including bulldozers -- crossing over Palestinian land near the border fence, adding the bulldozers conducted work for a short period before leaving the area.
An Israeli army spokesperson did not have immediate information on the incident.
Israeli forces have made repeated incursions into the Gaza Strip over the past year and have frequently opened fire on Palestinians who approach the border "buffer zone."
As 95 percent of Gaza's arable land lies along the "buffer zone" where Palestinians are restricted access, Israeli presence in the area has a detrimental effect on Palestinian farmers in the Gaza Strip, where the majority of the population is food insecure.
