An Israeli settler was reportedly killed and at least three others injured, at least one critically, in a shooting directed at an Israeli vehicle on Route 60 near the illegally Israeli settlement of Otniel south of Hebron in the southern occupied West Bank.

An Israeli army spokesperson confirmed a shooting took place on Route 60, but could not immediately confirm any deaths or injuries. Meanwhile, Israeli media quoted official medial sources as saying that one Israeli was killed, and four other injured.

Israel's emergency medical sources said in a statement the shooting cause the car to turn over, adding that paramedics were treating at least two victims.

Israeli army spokesperson Peter Lerner ‏later said that several were evacuated to hospital for medical assistance, and that the Israeli army was still searching for the area for suspects.

Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the suspect behind the shooting was from the same village as a Palestinian who killed a 13-year old Israeli girl on Thursday.

Witnesses told Haaretz they saw an overturned car on the side of a road near the settlement of Otneil and an Israeli army outpost, some 15 kilometers south of Kiryat Araba, the Israeli settlement where the slain teenage girl was killed.
