Israel has lodged a complaint with the UN Security Council against the Lebanese government over the activities of the Hizbollah guerrilla group, Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben Ami said Sunday, after a deadly roadside bomb attack in the border area.
"We placed a complaint with the Security Council of the UN against the Lebanese government for the activities of Hizbollah against our forces in the Shebaa region," Ben Ami told a press conference here, hours after a bomb exploded in the disputed Israeli-occupied Shebaa Farms border area.
Security sources in Lebanon said one Israeli soldier was killed and three others wounded by the explosion in the Shebaa Farms area, which was claimed by the Shiite Muslim Hizbollah.
The Israeli army has not confirmed the death.
"We hope for support from the international community and for the Lebanese government to condemn this aggression against Israeli forces outside Lebanese territory," Ben Ami said -- JERUSALEM (AFP)
