Israeli forces shot and killed one Palestinian and critically wounded another, only 12 years old, after they were allegedly involved in two separate stabbing attacks on Israelis in occupied East Jerusalem on Tuesday.
A 37-year-old Palestinian was shot and wounded by an Israeli security guard after he allegedly attempted to stab him outside the Old City's Damascus Gate.
The Palestinian was taken to Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem, where a spokesperson later confirmed he had succumbed to his wounds.
Another person received a light wound to one of his hands during the incident, Israeli emergency services told Ma'an.
Initial reports suggested this person may have been a 50-year-old Palestinian man who was hit by Israeli crossfire. A spokesperson for Shaare Zedek Medical Center said they had received an Israeli civilian who was lightly injured near Damascus gate.
Moments before the incident, Israeli forces shot and wounded a 12-year-old Palestinian after he and a 13-year-old Palestinian reportedly stabbed and injured an Israeli security guard on the light rail near the illegal Israeli settlement of Pisgat Zeef.
A spokesperson for Hadassah Hospital told Ma'an the child was undergoing surgery at the hospital's Ein Kerem branch and was in critical condition.
Israeli police said that both children had been taken into police custody.
The Israeli security guard was in moderate condition, they said.
