jacky’s electronics drives up retail expansion multi-brand electronics retailer opens 10th outlet in souk al bahar
Jacky's Electronics, the UAE’s number one multi-brand retailer, has rolled out its 2008 expansion plans in the UAE with the opening of an exclusive multi-brand electronics retail outlet – Jacky’s Express - at the arabesque-themed Souk Al Bahar, located in the heart of Downtown Burj Dubai.
The only electronic retailer in Souk Al Bahar, the company has invested more than Dhs1.5 million for the 1,200 square feet Jacky’s Express. The new outlet encompasses the design concept of a scaled-down version of Jacky’s Electronics and will be home to various brands of fast-moving product categories such as LCD TVs, notebooks, digital cameras, mobiles, PDAs, gaming hardware and software, as well as other digital lifestyle products and accessories.
The outlet will be inaugurated by Mr. Rashid Doleh, CEO of EMAAR Malls Group, developer of the Souk Al Bahar concept. The opening of the 10th outlet marks the first partnership between Jacky’s and EMAAR.
“Dubai is the shopping destination in the world and is reputed as an electronics hub in the region. We want Jacky’s to be seen across the city and become the ultimate choice where customers can source all their electronic goods,” said Ashish Panjabi, COO, Jacky’s Electronics.
“Over the years, the retail sector has seen tremendous growth in the UAE, as well as the real estate industry, where shopping malls are constantly being built and we are capitalising on this position. Souk Al Bahar is close to The Palace Hotel and has direct access to the Dubai Mall - an ideal location for Jacky’s Express to cater tourists and residents who frequent the mall to shop, dine, and relax in a new and vibrant atmosphere,” he added.
“Additionally, as the Burj Dubai area has a fairly sizeable residential community such as the apartments at the Burj Residences, which is also near the Sheikh Zayed Road area, this new Jacky’s outlet is in a very strategic place for these customers.”
The Jacky's retail division has achieved an overall 30 per cent rise in sales in 2007 attributed to the various all-year promotions during GITEX and other special occasions as well as the offers made during the Dubai Shopping Festival. To celebrate the opening of its tenth outlet, Jacky's extends its series of aggressive Dubai Shopping Festival promotions and offers wherein customers will have a chance take home a brand new 2008 Nissan Pathfinder or one of fifty AED 10,000 gift vouchers that can be redeemed on any Nissan car.
“The opening of the express outlet in Souk Al Bahar opens up Jacky’s to hotel guests, the residents of Old Town and the shoppers of Dubai Mall. This new outlet brings Jacky’s to ten showrooms in the emirate. Jacky’s is also planning additional outlets this year including outlets at Dubai Mall, which is also owned by EMAAR Malls Group,” concluded Panjabi.
