Jacky’s Electronics to give away over 800 LG Netbooks and Mobile Phones at Gitex Shopper 2009

Jacky’s Electronics, the UAE’s number one multi-brand consumer electronics retailer, has partnered with LG Electronics in a raffle of over 800 must-win prizes to be held during Gitex Shopper 2009.
Visitors will have the chance to take home five LG X120 Mini netbooks and five LG GB110 mobile phones every hour of the show from the 17th until the 24th of October. In addition, eight 42” LG Scarlet Full HD LCD TVs will be given away to lucky customers across all Jacky’s outlets for purchases made during Gitex.
With the much anticipated launch of Microsoft® Windows® 7 being at its peak, Jacky’s will have a stand dedicated only to Windows 7 products, from manufacturers such as Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, LG, Packard Bell, Samsung, Sony Vaio and Toshiba. It will be located near the entrance of the event, to be held at Airport Expo this year, allowing those entering to immediately see what is new before moving on to dedicated stands for each brand across the 17 Jacky’s stands. 
Microsoft Windows 7 is set to launch worldwide on the 22nd October, so this preview will be exclusive to visitors at the Airport Expo. Besides being able to purchase laptops pre-installed with Windows 7, Shopper visitors can avail themselves of other exclusive Gitex offers which will not be available at Jacky’s normal retail outlets.
 “We view Gitex Shopper as an important event for retailers, as consumer trends that are revealed here are carried forward into the planning for the coming year. We are also highly optimistic that we will experience even better sales after the organisers decided to add another day of great deals and promotions, making this year an exciting eight-day event. With Windows 7 exclusively launched at Gitex during the first few days of the event, we expect more visitors from across the region will attend, looking for the latest gadgets and consumer electronics products,” said Jimmy Patel, General Manager of Jacky’s Electronics.
“At Jacky’s, we have seen a shift in the purchasing behaviour of our customers from high-end products towards fast moving products. There is continuous demand for mobile phones, particularly those with high megapixel cameras, and an increase in sales of digital SLR cameras.  At Gitex Shopper, customers are heavily influenced by promotions and giveaways offered by the retailers, since all retailers have the same selling prices as per the brand guidelines; hence, the promotions, attractive giveaways and good salesmanship close the deals.  Our partnership with LG, whereby we are giving away over 800 of their netbooks and mobile phones and eight  42” Scarlett Full HD LCD TVs, shows an increase in our overall investment in prizes compared to last year’s event,” he added.
With any purchase over AED250 or more, shoppers can enter a raffle draw which will be conducted every hour on-site at Shopper whilst a separate raffle draw will be held at Jacky’s outlets for the LG Scarlett TVs. Jacky’s is also partnering with many other leading IT brands for a whole host of price-based and bundle-based offers which will be available during the GITEX Shopper’s period only.
Brands such as BlackBerry, with exclusive offers of an inclusive Etisalat subscription, will feature at this event, and will likely lead to further penetration of the Smartphone segment in the UAE. On the gaming front, Jacky’s will be showcasing the new Sony PS3 Slim and the Sony PSP Go; while football fans will be presented with the all-new ProEvolution 10 available from the first day of Gitex Shopper. The company has also increased its focus on the DSLR segment with even more cameras, lenses and accessories available on display. Jacky’s is also investing in a dedicated stand for LCD and plasma TVs with over 70 large screens showcased.
