Jordanian Foreign Minister Abdul Ilah Khatib will convey Wednesday a message from King Abdullah to Syrian President Bashar Al Assad on the situations in the region and bilateral relations between the two countries, reported the official Jordanian news agency, Petra.

During his visit to Damascus, Khatib is due to hold talks with his Syrian counterpart Farouq Sharaa on the current developments and bilateral coordination in this regard, said the agency.

On Tuesday, the Jordanian monarch ended a two-day visit to Berlin where he held talks with German officials on the Palestinian crisis.

German Chancellor Gerhard Shroeder reiterated his support to the joint Egyptian-Jordanian peace initiative, aimed at quelling the escalation in the Palestinian territories and resuming negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis, said Petra.

Shroeder also urged the Palestinians and the Israelis to implement the Mitchell report – Albawaba.com
