Jordan's King Abdullah II arrived in Kuwait on a two-day official visit for talks with Kuwaiti leaders on regional conflicts, bilateral relations and the renewal of an oil grant.
He arrived from the Saudi Kingdom where he made a short stop to show Jordan's solidarity following the deadly weekend attacks in Al-Khobar in which 22 people were killed.
"Jordan expresses total solidarity with Saudi Arabia, and strongly condemns the sinful and criminal attacks that took place in Al-Khobar," the monarch was quoted as saying by the official SPA agency following a meeting with Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz.
In Kuwait, King Abdullah is expected to discuss Iraq and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as well as renewing a Kuwaiti oil grant for Jordan, he told the official KUNA news agency on the eve of the visit.
In early May, Riyadh agreed to extend for one year an oil grant to Jordan while talks to secure a similar deal with Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were still underway. (Albawaba.com)
