Deputizing for Jordan's King Abdullah II, Prince Faisal Bin Al Hussein opened Monday the Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference SOFEX 2008. On behalf of the King, Jordanian Prime Minister Nader Dahabi delivered a speech in the opening session of the conference.
In his speech, cited by Petra news agency, Dahabi emphasized that "this important gathering at SOFEX 2008 is an opportunity for everyone to demonstrate their united stand against terror in all its guises." The Jordanian monarch reiterated, in the message delivered by Dahabi, that the "world will win its fight against terror through joint cooperation."
The Conference is being followed by a three day exhibition held at the King Abdullah I Airbase in Marka, where over 300 local, regional and international exhibitors will be displaying the latest state of the art equipment and technology used by Special Operations Forces around the world. Exhibitors from Australia, China, Germany, France, India, Iraq, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Poland, Qatar, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland Turkey, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America, and they are expected to have some 50 delegates present at SOFEX 2008.
