ALBAWABA- Sudan’s army has seized control of key government institutions in Khartoum, with Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan arriving at the presidential palace following the military's decisive advances.
For the first time since the war began, Sudanese Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan landed at Khartoum International Airport and proceeded to the Presidential Palace, where he declared: “It’s over—Khartoum is free of the Rapid Support Forces.”
The Commander of Khartoum Operations confirmed that the airport has been secured and fully restored, with an official announcement of complete control over the city expected soon.
“The Rapid Support Forces have lost the ability to fight,” the commander stated, calling on RSF fighters to “stop the bloodshed and surrender.” Reports indicate that large numbers of RSF militants have fled the capital as the army consolidates its hold over Sudan’s war-torn capital.
The recapture of strategic sites—including the Central Bank, ministries, and the airport—forced Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militants to flee, as video footage showed dozens of fighters crossing a bridge in retreat.
In another video, Sudanese army officers stood at the Qatari embassy in Khartoum, saluting Qatar for its support of the Sudanese people and their legitimate government. A military officer declared: "We will not forget your stance, your chivalry, or your kindness."
According to military sources, the army has now surrounded the RSF's last major stronghold south of the capital.
The situation marks a dramatic shift in the conflict, strengthening the army's position in the ongoing battle for Sudan’s future.
