ALBAWABA - According to TASS New Agency, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has recieved five explosive drones, a reconnaissance drone and a bulletproof vest as gifts from a regional governor on his visit to Russia.
TASS said the "leader of the DPRK received five kamikaze drones and a ‘Geran-25’ reconnaissance drone with vertical takeoff".
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un left Russia on Sunday on his armored train, according to Russian news media, wrapping up a six-day trip focused primarily on military matters.
Governor of the Primorye region, which borders China and North Korea, also "offered Kim Jong Un a set of bulletproof protection" and "special clothing not detectable by thermal cameras".
Kim has met President Vladimir Putin and visited key military and technical centers since arriving in Russia on an armored train last Tuesday, raising concerns about a possible weapons partnership between the two nations.
Moscow is believed to be interested in obtaining North Korean weaponry to continue fighting in Ukraine, while Pyongyang is thought to seek Russia's assistance in polishing its globally condemned missile program.
The Ria Novosti agency published a video of Kim's departure and said a "departure ceremony" was held at the Artyom-Primorsky-1 station, while TASS news agency said that Kim's train was headed towards the border.
TASS said the "leader of the DPRK received five kamikaze drones and a 'Geran-25' reconnaissance drone with vertical takeoff", using the official name of North Korea.
Kim also met with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu in Vladivostok and they discussed cooperation and exchanges between the armed forces of the two countries and international affairs, Voice of Korea radio reported.
"Kim Jong Un and Sergey Shoigu exchanged views on regional and international military and political circumstances and exchanged constructive views on issues related to the continued strengthening of tactical and strategic interaction, cooperation, and mutual exchanges between the armed forces of the two countries, as well as in the field of defense and security," TASS reported.
Shoigu, who met Kim during a rare visit to North Korea in July, also showed Kim another form of Russia's latest missiles, the hypersonic Kinzhal, which was carried by the MiG-31 fighter plane during the Ukraine war.
