Saudi King Fahd and Bahrain’s emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa, held talks in Jeddah Wednesday on bilateral and regional issues, reported the Gulf Daily News.

Sheikh Hamad arrived in Jeddah earlier in the day, said the paper, adding that he also met with Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdelaziz.

During his meeting with King Fahd, the Bahraini emir hailed Saudi-Bahraini ties and discussed ways to further bolster them in all fields, the paper said.

Both sides also discussed the recent situation in the Palestinian territories.

Saudi Arabia had played a role in calming the border dispute between Qatar and Bahrain before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling that ended a 60-year conflict between the two Gulf emirates – Albawaba.com
