ALBAWABA- The Israeli Knesset has approved in a preliminary reading a bill allowing Jews to officially register themselves as landowners in the occupied West Bank.

This move is expected to accelerate Israeli settlement expansion and deepen the annexation of Palestinian land, threatening a two-state solution.

The legislation aligns with the agenda of Israel’s right-wing government, particularly Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and former National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, both of whom have openly advocated for annexation and the displacement of Palestinians from both the West Bank and Gaza.

This bill undermines Palestinian rights and solidifies Israeli control over the occupied territories.

In a related note, Israel has confirmed receiving a list from Hamas detailing the prisoners set to be released on Thursday. According to Israeli authorities, the list includes eight hostages, among them five Thai nationals, who are expected to be freed from Gaza by tomorrow.
