A high-ranking Kuwaiti delegation is due in Sanaa on Saturday for talks with Yemeni officials on bilateral ties, reported the weekly Yemen Times.

The delegation, headed by Minister of Information Fahd Al Ahmad Al Sabah, will also inaugurate the activities of the Kuwaiti cultural week in Yemen.

According to the weekly, the event reflects “deep-rooted Yemeni-Kuwaiti relations.”

The aim of these events is to bring together Yemeni and Kuwaiti artists and intellectuals.

Ties between the two countries were severed in 1990 when Yemen supported Iraq’s invasion of the Gulf emirate.

But the two countries have recently re-established ties and signed several cooperation agreements – Albawaba.com
