A Kuwaiti lawmaker known for his hardline views on the severed ties between Kuwait and the Palestinian Authority admitted Wednesday that Kuwaiti parliamentarians were offensive to Faisal Husseini, the PA official who died hours after a heated encounter with them over PA-Kuwait relations.
Mohammad Saqer told a parliamentary session on Wednesday that Kuwait should reconsider its relations with Arab countries that stood by Iraq during its invasion of the Gulf emirate in 1990.
“In politics, there is no eternal enemy, nor an eternal friend,” the deputy was quoted as saying by the Saudi daily Al Watan.
Palestinian figures blamed Kuwait MPs for Husseini’s death on May 31. They said the bitter attack on the PA during the parliamentary panel meeting that Husseini attended was the cause of his heart failure.
The Kuwaitis then rejected the accusation, saying Husseini was treated with due respect during the visit – Albawaba.com
