ALBAWABA - As a consequence of a big fire that broke out in the Kfar Etzion community, which is located to the north of Hebron, two hundred troops were forced to evacuate from a military camp that was located nearby.
It was reported by Israeli Channel 14 that the fire started in the settlement and almost immediately moved to the Etzion camp, which is located in the southern part of the West Bank. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) took the cautious action of removing personnel from the camp in response to the situation.
Yedioth Ahronoth stated that the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) sent twenty firefighting crews to the region in order to put out the fire. Additionally, the IDF issued an order to evacuate the camp after the flames reached the area. In addition, Channel 14 said that authorities had a strong suspicion that the fire was intentionally started.
According to the accounts of witnesses, private cars were seen providing assistance throughout the evacuation procedure. While this was going on, Israeli media sites transmitted footage of the firefighting attempts, including a helicopter trying to put out the fire despite dense smoke coming from the location.
The fire, which started in the Kfar Etzion village, which is located south of Bethlehem, has spread to the military camp, and attempts to put it under control are still underway.
