Ipanema Technologies (http://www.ipanematech.com/) -the industry leader of WAN Governance and application-centric VPN services- today announced a partnership with Secureway (http://www.secureway.ae/index.php?id=1) Network Distributors, the award winning and leading Security and Networking distributor in the Middle East.
Under the agreement, Secureway will represent Ipanema Technologies as their Value Added Distributor (VAD) for the GCC countries and provide local expertise, support and services for service providers, System Integrators and Value Added Resellers (VARs) using Ipanema's portfolio of technologies to build advanced governance and application-based virtual private network (VPN) services.
Ipanema's Autonomic Networking System (ANS(TM)) has been the enabling technology for Wan Governance managed services provided by premier global service providers such as OBS, Cable and Wireless, Swisscom, BT, COLT, Belgacom, Telecom Italia and many others.
Said Fari Boustantchi, CEO of Secureway Group: "Due to the special cost structure and geographical positioning of UAE and the GCC countries, WAN Governance and WAN Optimisation are increasingly sought after by savvy enterprises looking to reduce risks, manage the data explosion and its associated cost implications. We see this as highly complementary to our existing security business."
Mr. Boustantchi continued "We have been carefully evaluating a number of WAN Optimisation vendors, and I am very happy to say that we have chosen Ipanema based on the completeness of their offering and a proven industrialized solution which has been a core part of the managed services of many service providers for the past 10 years."
Reza Mahdavi, President of Ipanema Technologies, was very excited about this partnership: "WAN Governance has finally arrived in the Middle East. Having been deeply involved in building the initial network infrastructure in the GCC countries while responsible formanaging emerging developing countries at CISCO, I am very happy to also be a part of launching the technology that puts the intelligence on top of those networks. We see this as an important development for Ipanema. I am attending Telecom World Middle East to discuss the need for going beyond MPLS by providing the required visibility and autonomic control for today's advanced networks. Our launch at this event is a great opportunity to exchange ideas and to develop relationships with regional service providers."
The new challenging enterprise environment requires the implementation of strategic IT transformation initiatives which dramatically increase the pressure on the network. Desktop virtualization, unified communications, Web applications, video streaming, telepresence, hybrid networks and the evolution to cloud computing all drive the need for predictable, real-time, optimized and controlled network performance. The WAN has become a strategic asset of the enterprise productivity.
Realising these initiatives means that the network is getting more and more complex to both implement and operate inorder to match the Enterprise's strive for agility. This requires providing application awareness, control and optimisation of applications.
And this represents a fantastic opportunity for service providers to go beyond basic transport services and provide an autonomic network infrastructure for their enterprise customers as a strategic asset in the overall IT chain.
Ipanema's solutions are already used by companies including Orange Business Services, BT, Cable and Wireless, Belgacom, Swisscom, Telecom Italia, Fastweb, Reliance, Tata Communications, Colt and KDDI.
