Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri sent warm wishes Monday to all those celebrating Eid al-Adha and expressed his hope for a "successful, new government as soon as possible," a statement from his office read.

Hariri asked for this year's celebrations to be a time of restoring safety and security to all those suffering from wars in and around the region.

The premier-designate said he hoped the new government would fulfill the wishes of the Lebanese people and better the country.

Hariri will not be receiving holiday greetings, as he is out of the country, the statement added.
