LG the Title Sponsor for the 1st Photo Competition “Colors of Jordan”

LG Electronics (LG), a global leader and technology innovator, sponsored the 1st photo competition “Colors of Jordan” which targeted university and college students; the exhibition kicked off in Mecca Mall, in the presence of the Director of Brand Marketing for LG Electronics Levant, Edward Choi, the Marketing General Manager of Mobiles at LG Levant, Mr. Yong Mo Kim, and from Greater Amman Municipality, the City Deputy Manager for Cultural, Social, and Sports Affairs, Eng. Haitham Jweinat.
This competition, which relocated at Al Wakalat Street in Swefieh, encourages the youth to explore Jordan and discover its beauty; the participants captured photos marking Jordan’s nature, culture, heritage and other merits.

And as a title sponsor, LG rewarded the best picture with special prizes like laptops, netbooks, and mobile phones; it also organized many recreational activities, such as the guess game: participants had to guess a predefined number, and the winner got a Cookie 3G mobile phone from LG.
 
The ceremony of prize awarding took place on the last day of the exhibition, 8 May 2010, at Al Wakalat Street, when Yasmeen Khasawneh, a student from the University of Jordan, won the Grand Prize of 1000 JOD, for the normal camera photo. The prize of the first place was a laptop from LG worths 400 JOD, the second place won a 300 JOD netbook from LG; as for the phone camera photo, the Grand Prize was a 300 JOD netbook from LG, the first place’s prize was 200 JOD worth of an LG mobile phone, and the second places’ prize was 100 JOD worth of LG mobile phone.   

The competition included a music concert, voting, contests, and a promotion, aiming at promoting interaction among the youth and at enhancing the creative potentials of the Jordanian young generations.

This sponsorship came within LG’s framework of social responsibility, which aims, among other things, at supporting and encouraging the youth towards creativity and innovation. When any initiative with humanitarian theme is launched, LG is always there to act and put into action its commitment towards the local community- few weeks ago Dead Sea Ultra Marathon, and now this outstanding competition.
