ALBAWABA - Israel declared the "Shield and Arrow" operation against Hamas positions shortly after the surprise October 7 attack by the Hamas military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, in which 1,200 Israelis were killed and about 240 hostages were taken back to Gaza.

Hezbollah, the Lebanese movement, announced joining the war and announced the start of rocket attacks targeting Israel in response to Tel Aviv's aggression on the Gaza Strip.

Since then, Israel has also been targeting Hezbollah positions across Lebanon, especially in the south. However, on Sept. 23, Israel announced more intense strikes on Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon asking people to "move out".

In the past few days, Israel has killed many high-ranking figures of the Iranian-backed group with Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of Hezbollah, at the top of the list.
