Lumension Security™, formed by the combination of PatchLink ® Corporation and SecureWave® S.A., has announced the appointment of i-Technosoft, the exclusive distributor of Secure Wave S.A. in the Middle East, as a distributor of its industry leading security solutions in the Middle East. Following its successful participation at Gitex Technology Week in Dubai, Lumension Security aims to capitalize on the growing need for security solutions that offer proactive, unified protection and control of enterprise endpoints, and its partnership with i-Technosoft will seek to leverage the existing channel breadth and market reach of i-Technosoft.

According to estimates from leading IT intelligence firm Gartner, 75 percent of enterprises will be infected by financially motivated, targeted malware that evade traditional perimeter and host defenses. The new security solutions offered by Lumension Security bring relief to overburdened IT departments, which have been facing a growing number of security vulnerabilities that are becoming more dangerous and costly. A report published by the National Vulnerability Database further revealed that 24 new vulnerabilities are discovered everyday, forcing many organizations to rely on a wide variety of incongruent security and configuration management technologies because traditional security models are reactive in nature and attempt to resolve threats after they are discovered, making them incapable of keeping up with the constant deluge of new threats.

Commenting on the partnership, Andrew Clarke, Senior Vice President - International, Lumension Security, said, “We are aware of the proliferation of disparate stand alone point solutions in the market that are hard to manage and costly, which is why Lumension Security is bringing integrated best of breed, policy based solutions to help customers effectively address today’s evolving threats while simplifying the entire security management lifecycle.  Our approach to security is helping customers move away from a reactive to a proactive approach, and unify enterprise-class solutions that maintain security policies, reduce overall complexity and costs, and ultimately accelerate business results. Through this partnership, we are looking forward extending our market reach and deliver solutions that address the increasing customer demand for tightly integrated solutions that are cost effective and easy to manage.”

Lumension Security integrates best-of-breed solutions based on the Positive Security Model to address the inability of traditional and endpoint security point solutions to effectively protect an organization's proprietary information and systems. More than 5,100 enterprises worldwide have already taken advantage of Lumension Security's industry leading solutions, which combines PatchLink’s robust vulnerability management suite, Harris Corporation's STAT vulnerability assessment solution and SecureWave's Sanctuary application and device control endpoint policy enforcement technology.

Lumension Security was the recipient of the ‘Security Product of the Year’ award for its endpoint security management product, Sanctuary, in the 2007 CNET Networks UK Business Technology Awards. The accolade recognizes excellence in the security product or service by demonstrating innovation, improved productivity for the customer, ease of implementation and management and effectiveness in terms of the product’s ability to provide businesses with a competitive edge.

As a distributor for the Middle East, i-Technosoft aims to increase the penetration of Lumension Security through its 53 active channel partners across the region, and will also provide value-added services such as training, consulting (ISO, HIPAA), installation and implementation, a 24 to 48-hour gold support hotline, online training sessions, road shows and workshops. The partnership offers Lumension excellent expansion prospects as i-Technosoft is one of the fastest growing companies in its field, reporting a phenomenal growth of 110 per cent as of September 2007.
"This partnership has given us an additional edge over the competition. With our product profile, which includes servers, desktops, network management, in tandem with the multi-platform architecture of PatchLink, clients using our solutions will be pleased to have a unified solution that can assess and protect their networks and endpoints from both external and internal threats," concluded Mehdi Abbas Rashid, Chief Executive & Technical Officer, i-Technosoft.

i-Technosoft will promote Lumension’s various products such as PatchLink’s multi-platform set-up, which will make core banking server vulnerability and remediation possible with its ability to support routers, firewalls and switches which are compatible with IBM, AIX, UX, UNIX, LINUX, Novell, Microsoft, MAC and Sun Solaris. Through its robust patch management solution, Lumension delivers its patented Patch Fingerprinting™ Technology, a system that ensures the highest level of accuracy in detecting security threats. In addition, Sanctuary supports clients with a strong second line of defense from internal threats, which cannot be disabled by windows administrators. Both PatchLink and Sanctuary delivers advanced reporting, enabling users to customize reporting views for trending and analysis by servers, IP ranges and dates, and drill down to in-depth information by individual computer, organizational groups and departments.
