A mass grave with over 230 bodies was discovered in Syria's eastern Deir al Zor Province, Reuters reports.
The victims were believed to have been killed by ISIL militants, according to Reuters. Those killed were members of the al Sheitaat tribe, a group who had battled ISIL extremists.
The mass grave brings the death of al Sheitaat members up to 900.
Syria's three-year-long war has greatly destabalized the country and attracted extremists from ISIL and al Qaeda-affiliated al Nusra Front.
