Dubai Press Club today announced Michael Golden, Vice-Chairman, Board of Directors, The New York Times Company, and President and Chief Operating Officer, The New York Times Company Regional Media Group, will highlight the challenges to journalism in the digital era during a dedicated session at the ninth Arab Media Forum in Dubai.Organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the event themed 'Shifting Mediascape...Inspiring Content, Expanding Reach' will be held from 12-13 May at The Atlantis-Palm.
Golden will share his experience as a top executive with the New York Times Company. The session will be moderated by Dr. Hessa Lootah, Associate Professor of the Department of Mass Communications at the UAE University.
Established in 1851, the New York Times Company is one of the most important media organizations in the world. It includes The New York Times, the International Herald Tribune, The Boston Globe, 15 other daily newspapers and more than 50 Web sites, including NYTimes.com, Boston.com and About.com. The newspaper has won nearly 100 Pulitzer prizes, one of the most prestigious journalism awards in the US.
Golden is also Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for the International Center for Journalists, a Washington DC-based non-profit organization that raises journalism standards through offering hands-on training workshops, seminars, fellowships and international exchanges.
Arab Media Forum 2010 is expected to witness the participation of more than 800 media personalities and specialists with over 70 speakers from Arab countries and across the world.
