A moderate earthquake measuring 4.5 on the open-ended Richter scale shook the western Turkish province of Afyon on Friday, but there were no reports of casualties or damage, the Anatolia news agency reported.
The quake's epicenter was the town of Sultandagi, which was substantially damaged in a 6.0-point tremor which left 41 dead and over 300 injured in February, the seismological institute in Istanbul said. Friday's tremor was followed by an aftershock measuring 3.3 points, the agency added.
The Sultandagi governor, Ahmet Cinar, told Anatolia that they had not received any reports of casualties or damage and that the situation in the town was calm. (Albawaba.com)
