Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development meets with US media industry leaders

Young Leaders Program delegates discuss with American experts the media's role in promoting the development of Dubai

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Program for Leadership Development (MBRPLD), an innovative leadership program aimed at developing national leaders who are willing and able to promote the sustainable development of the UAE, has announced that of MBRPLD's Young Leaders Program recently attended a meeting with high-level media executives and government officials at the corporate headquarters of Seattle’s Trade Union. The event served as the concluding activity of a weeklong educational visit in the USA.

The delegates from Dubai discussed with their American counterparts the media's role within global cities such as Dubai, and the importance of creating a clear-cut strategy, methodology and policies to improve communications and networking capabilities. The Young Leaders Program participants also had a lunch meeting with various government officials, led by Ray Stevenson, City Mayor of Everett, which owns the second-largest marina on the US west coast and is also home to Boeing's massive assembly plant.

The discussions with the government executives focused on the need to constantly develop the leadership skills of society leaders and expanding the horizon for cooperation through building global networks to facilitate exchange of knowledge and experiences.

"The media has been a key element in the development of major societies around the world. It was thus strategically important that a discussion about the media was incorporated into the educational tour to give the Young Leaders Program delegates a more detailed overview of this delicate subject matter from experts in the US. The event enabled the young leaders to discuss critical issues with American professors who are highly experienced in this subject area. It was an enriching experience to interact with some of the most important trainers and instructors from around the world and to know that they are genuinely interested with MBRPLD. This experience will help the candidates process the information they have gathered during the educational tour and will surely contribute in consolidating their own leadership skills and knowledge," said Adel Al Shared, MBRPLD Director and Executive Council Director of National's Development.
