According to Reuters, more than 10,000 Daesh militants have been killed in Iraq and Syria since the international coalition began its campaign in the region nine months ago.
US Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken delivered the report after coalition leaders met in Paris on Wednesday. Blinken stated that the coalition was making significant progress against Daesh but that the group continues to advance on several fronts within the region.
"We have seen a lot of losses within Daesh since the start of this campaign, more than 10,000," Blinken said on a French radio station. "It will end up having an impact."
