More than 100,000 people have been killed in the Syrian conflict, according to a new report published by an opposition-aligned NGO.

The toll was now 100,191 people, with at least 36,661 civilians killed, along with 25,000 regime troops and 18,072 rebel fighters, according to a toll published by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The remainder consist of Hezbollah fighters, pro-Assad shabiha and unidentified persons.

The watchdog relies on a network of doctors and lawyers on the ground in Syria for its figures.

The most recent UN report stated that at least 93,000 people had been killed in the 27 month-old conflict so far.
