The French Minister of Culture, Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, granted to the Moroccan artist-painter, Mehdi Qotbi, the distinction of Officer in the Order of Arts and Letters.
This is a unique distinction, which is awarded by the Minister of Culture of France in recognition of outstanding achievement in arts. The title of Officer is second in rank after the title of Commander and above the title of Knight.
<i>Al Bayan</i> reports that the French minister praised Qotbi's works, which represent the profound relations between the two cultures. The ceremony took place last Thursday and was attended by the Moroccan ambassador in France.
