Immediately after the American election results were announced, the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, sent a personal message with "his warmest congratulations" to George Bush, President of the USA on his reelection as President of the USA, according to local press reports.
The King offered support in Bush's foreign policy and in ensuring stability. He expressed his desire to strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Morocco is considered a key ally in the fight against terror, partly because many Moroccans are known to have joined al-Qaida and several Moroccan citizens have been arrested in Europe accused of planning terror attacks.
